GRIND WITH US!
No matter what we face, what we endure, what comes against us, we will
#BEKINDGRINDTOGETHER
From Start To Finish
We have been dedicated to seeing this basketball court painted in Oakwood Park. Why, you may ask? Because if we didn’t finish, our youth might not finish their test, might not go after their dreams and might decide to choose the streets over community. We did this to show our youth community that no matter what challenges arise, we CAN DO THIS! Unfortunately, in our town of Lorain, there isn’t always the best support for our young ones. We are going to CHANGE THAT!
Check out this video to see where we started and how we finished with the painting of the Oakwood Park Basketball Court!
“The outpouring of support from the leaders of this city is impeccable! It truly does take a village and man, what a village we have in Lorain, OHIO!”
Join The Movement
Painting this basketball court in one of the many parks of Lorain, OH sent out a message to our city and the leaders. Nothing can stop us when we all come together united and engaged. We want more for our youth, our people, our community! This is just the beginning and it is the start of something brand new. We could never do events like this without the support of the people who want to see positive changes happen for their neighborhood and their kids.
If you want to join this movement, please consider making a donation of any amount to our organization at the button below. Every dollar counts but this is not about money. It’s about the people and the love that lives in each and everyone of us. We appreciate any donation you can make and we also welcome your prayers of encouragement. Without God, none of this could happen. It’s grind time.
“Time and Time Again”
Darius approached Mr. Mayor Jack Bradley with a couple projects to improve this community! Mayor Jack Bradley receives countless projects to support and endorse! We were so grateful he could find time in his very busy schedule to show up for our event!
Mayor Jack Bradley is a pivotal leader for Lorain in this time. With his background of law and business, Jack Bradley has been able to strategically position Lorain for future endeavors. We are eternally grateful for his presence alone as it really adds so much credibility to our mission and catapults us into the next level. I don’t think we can say this enough but THANK YOU MAYOR JACK BRADLEY FOR BELIEVING IN US even when there was so many good reasons to doubt!
“Let’s Blossom”
Rey Carrion, former 6th ward councilman, expressed how proud he was to see someone take ownership and produce an event that blossomed into a great success! Mr. Carrion was talking about our Founder Darius Winborn and the beautiful community of Lorain right there to back him. Rey Carrion has produced great events and progress for the 6th ward of Lorain which can also be known as the “Southside” of Lorain.
With a substantial Latino population in the Southside of Lorain, Rey represents a multitude of people who want to see better for their community but may not always know how. Having a Latino vouch for this event secured the trust for the local community and this was pivotal in gathering support for future events for The Grind League
The new 6th ward councilman is Antonio Baez, whom is a husband, father, community activist, community leader with experience in military, Veterans Affairs, legislation, law enforcement and non-profits.
“Let’s do this right!”
Pastor Joe is a youth pastor for the Open Door Church located on Tower Blvd in Lorain, OH. Joe Is passionate about the youth and shares a touching message to our community about humility. It’s no secret that Lorain has a bad rep but Pastor Joe reminds us that we have the power to take back our dignity and make a difference. “Thank you Lord for showing us that even one person can make a difference,” says Pastor Joe.
Ending his message with a prayer was the best send off for our youth and their families. The weather was also incredibly beautiful thanks to Jesus :D
